PROJECT | The Client required cover art for his fantasy novel The Girl Who Sings To Dragons, along with title page graphic. The original artwork was digitally drawn using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Final template files were created using Adobe InDesign.

CONCEPT SKETCH
The artwork sets a dark mood at a forest's edge with .dark foliage Elements include banners for the houses featured in the story, each with a swan or wolf, and three black shields featuring dragons of gold, green, and white. A wolf skull nestles in the grass, and arrows with red feathers are buried alongside. Bursts of red add contrast and are a nod to the color featured in the forests of the story. Bright green and gold are a stark contrast to the grays of the background and draw the eye. A customized font for the title, glistening gold, ties in the gold of the wolf and dragon and rounds out the composition.
